Book review

Growing up in a kingdom fresh from imperial rule, seventeen year old Mik Fausten dreams of one day becoming a special agent with MIDA (Military Intelligence & Deployment Agency), the kingdom’s secret service. Along with his younger cousin Jace, he travels to the nation’s capital city of Seafar in order to join the military. However, things turn strange when he learns of the secret behind the silver dragon amulet he was given as a child. Soon, he comes face to face with the dragon Ungura. Unsure as to why the dragon’s spirit dwells within his amulet, Mik fears that its presence spells doom. He soon learns of an ancient order that existed hundreds of years ago. The order created the dragon and Mik’s amulet, along with one more, in order to confiscate all magic powers from the populace. Mik is then trapped when the kingdom’s rebel enemies target him in order to retrieve the amulet and unleash Ungura back into the world. Soon, he finds out the origins of the amulet when he is tasked with finding the green-eyed amulet that has been lost for hundreds of years. Mik and Jace must race against time in order to keep both amulets secure from the rebel army.
